Danny Zane, chair of the AIIC recently contacted the government in order to establish for sure whether or not inventory clerks fall under the umbrella of essential workers. The official response he got was that ‘if you are unable to work from home and you can go to work whilst keeping the correct distance – then there is no reason to stop business’. He was also informed that no specific guidance would be given with regards to whether or not inventory clerks would be classified as ‘essential’.
So why do we believe they are? We believe our property inventory services are essential for the following reasons. 1. They play a vital part in keeping the housing market moving 2. They ensure tenants deposits are protected and returned 3. They make sure all parties involved are kept safe from unscrupulous claims and 4. They provide tenants with safe spaces to isolate.
“It’s become even more vital that we ensure that people leaving rental accommodation have a smooth transition into their new home, when this doesn’t happen we see potential homelessness and a rise in vulnerability.” – Danny Zane.
So with all of the above in mind – we’re on a mission to keep things moving. But with the greatest of care. Check ins and check outs can be done without tenants present, keys can be left on work tops, gloves are always worn and hands are always sanitized. So we can assure you, with absolute confidence that not only are our clerks carrying out meaningful work with the property inventory services that they provide, they are also as safe as they could possibly be.
